The aim of this activity is for learners to commit to memory, the lyrics of the song, Little Bird, prior to learning the melody.

Listen to and enjoy a performance of Little Bird to hear the melodic line married to the lyrics they have previously learned. Listening with focus and concentration will help to enable powers of musical observation.

The Little Bird: Listen and Enjoy video introduces learners to the performance soundtrack of Little Bird accompanied by visuals to offer activity guidance and learning touch-points. This activity will prepare the way for learning the melody.

The aim of this activity is for learners to begin to develop the aural and vocal skill required to be able to sing with accuracy the song, Little Bird. This song offers an opportunity for learners to experience simple, yet fundamental, musical elements from a sensory point of view. These elements will be presented more formally in later learning activities.

This activity sharpens their listening skills as they follow the flow of familiar lyrics and notice instrumental variations. Interactive actions during listening keep them engaged while exploring musical diversity.Following the audio, students create a Music Journal Entry where they illustrate lyric pages, fostering creativity and self-expression. This activity allows them to document their learning journey throughout the year.The module also introduces the Pitch Mechanics: Introduction to the Body Scale, where learners participate in a game to learn major scale sounds through body actions.
