This learning experience challenges learners to apply what they learned in the Musical Pulse: Express the Steady Pulse with a Ball (count 8) video. is the first in a series of ball skill drills with music! In this first activity, Learners will accompany the music of Freedom with the bounce-catch action to mark out the timing of the musical pulse. The pattern of 8 bounce-catch actions is repeated several times and learners can demonstrate their awareness of the 8 count grouping by switching hands at the start of each new group. This switching of hands also helps to develop bi-laterally movement skills. Encourage learners to count to 8 softly out loud while executing the bounce-catch action as this will prove to be a very useful skill in other musical contexts in time to come!
